There are probably hundreds of color palette generators out there on the internet but this color palette generator, in my opinion takes the cake.

The procedure is simple: you add into the URL box the URL of any image on the web and click the Palettify button and a few seconds later you will see displayed a neat color palette set of the colors in the image.

This is great for anyone doing a web design project for themselves or their clients. You can even use it to generate a few color palette examples to give to your clients to choose from – especially if you’re designing the website from scratch.

Linking is a very important element of every web page and especially website. Without links your visitors can’t visit your other pages like your ‘About us’ or ‘Contact’ page. They’ll only be left with the one and only home page.

Making a link to your other pages is really quite simple and these days many programs that help make web pages quickly (like Dreamweaver) also allow you to simply and without too much thought make links as well.

The Web Design 101 video below will show you exactly how to make a link. Enjoy.

Ok well in this little web design tutorial, I showed the upcoming web designer the necessity of utilizing the shortcut functions Cut, Copy and Paste. These three shortcuts are probably the few mostly forgotten or underused shortcuts available but offer so much in the areas of time saving and efficiency.

Another interesting point. Out here in Burlington Ontario I meet quite a few web developers, not just here but there are a few of us in the GTA area and I must say, since college I have yet to find only two developers who were truly quick with their hands and their shortcuts. One was Mike (I forgot his last name) from College and Alvaro from Burlington’s RankHigher.ca. Actually now that I remember” on my first day of college as I was browsing around the campus in the morning an Oriental student walked up to me wanting to see my laptop. I let him take a peak and woowee he flew through those windows. Oh yes, they were pretty quick. That’s usually something that all web designers, graphic designers and even programmers take pride in. Being an efficient developer.
